An End to the Age of Entitlement

Learn about a conference addressing one of the most pressing issues of our time: working land and access to it.  On November 7, 2015, the David Brower Center, in partnership with RSF Social Finance, the Yggdrasil Land Foundation and Berkeley Food Institute, is hosting a half-day conversation targeting the question:  How can we find a way to transform the way that land is considered as a commodity to one in which land is our common wealth to be stewarded in the spirit of community?

John Bloom, author of “An End to the Age of Entitlement,” will provide leading thoughts on reconsidering land ownership, use, and community.  Speakers will include Kate Danaher, Lending Manager at RSF Social Finance, Jered Lawson, Co-Founder and Co-Director of Pie Ranch, Annie Burke of the Bay Area Open Space Council, Valentin Lopez of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band, and Nathan Sayre, Associate Professor of Geography at UC Berkeley.
