More About Thea Maria Carlson

Thea is an earth steward, farmer, facilitator, community weaver, speaker, writer, and co-creator who collaborates with organizations, individuals, and communities at the intersections of food and agriculture, environmental stewardship, equity and justice. Thea has been building healthy and just food systems for more than two decades, including 10 years leading the Biodynamic Association in the United States. Thea’s diverse experience also includes biodynamic and organic farming, urban agriculture, education, community organizing, strategic communications, facilitation, and leadership development. She is committed to a lifelong practice of recognizing and dismantling systems of oppression within herself and the organizations and communities in which she participates, and co-creating embodied justice and collective liberation. Thea lives at Monan’s Rill, an intergenerational intentional community in the Mayacamas Mountains of Northern California, where she co-tends 414 acres of land originally stewarded by and home to the Wappo people.
