Succession Schools offer options for New England’s Retiring Farmers

Agrarian Trust’s underlying goal is to ensure that the farmland in this country continues to be so after it has left the hands of its current owners.  400 million acres of farmland will change hands in the next 20 years and for many farmers in New England ages 65 and older, there is uncertainty about what that transition will bring.  9 out of 10 farmers in that age group do not have a next generation farm operator working with them.

Land for Good has instituted a series of Farm Succession Schools to help farmers in New England looking to turn over land and farmers looking to have land turned over to.  Read more here on the schools and how to sign up.
